What we need:


Mohawk is looking for a Hardware Technician II who can do more for all Mohawk Flooring North America brands across residential, distributor and builder multifamily divisions.


Responsible for providing 3rd level support for all production hardware related issues reported through the Support Center.  Troubleshoots hardware and software issues.  Documents hardware related policies and processes for use by all support groups.  Evaluates new hardware and software. Dispatches 3rd party vendors for hardware repairs.  Mentors junior staff members.


What you’ll do:


  • Provide third level technical support for production equipment for local and remote locations including: Production designated PCs, vehicle mounted PCs, network connected and specialty printers (including label, thermal, impact, wireless & truck mounted), thin client terminals, tablets and RF equipment, including hand held scanners, and vehicle mounted scanners. 
  • Perform Site Moves without direct supervision; including safe assistance in dismantling, transportation and installation of: gateways, routers, switches, WAAS devices, VOIP telephony, PCs, monitors, TVs, network & specialized printers, Time clocks, ETC.  Travels as needed to support remote sites and relocations.
  • Properly diagnose and resolve software and hardware configuration problems, working with network, server, and application support teams as needed.
  • KRONOS administration, including: setup new Time Clocks, resolve user or clock error codes, manage firmware on clocks, work with SAAS provider.
  • Operation and administration of Stay linked servers, including: port and connectivity, add new units, add Servers as needed to support new distribution locations.
  • Operation and administration of multiple MDM servers, including: license and client admin, create and deploy installation packages and patches to truck mounted PCs, maintain remote control functionality,
  • Troubleshoot problems using remote management capabilities and networking troubleshooting including WIFI wherever needed.
  • Use of the Support Center incident database to track, update and close tickets.
  • Dispatch of 3rd party vendor service technicians when appropriate.
  • Work closely with IT Management, Support Center personnel and other IT technical and applications staff to support business.
  • Operation and administration of IO Emulation servers, including: license admin, port and connectivity.
  • Operation and administration of BARR servers for AS400 IPDS print support including: port and connectivity, add new units.
  • AS400 knowledge of devices and menu use.

  • Assist in Management and maintenance of computer and software license records and lists and in determining PC equipment and software needs, sources and pricing of equipment. 
  • Must be able to effectively lead contract labor and/or junior staff.
