Tufting Machine Operator IP 2nd Shift

Major Function and Scope: Using brief narrative statements, describe each major function of responsibility explaining the scope of the function as appropriate.

Operates tufting machine (threading and/or replacing needles, replace cutting blades, align cutting blade block, and hook replacements).
Repair yarn breaks in creels and beams with splicer
Conduct machine set up checks (production checklist, deck board and backing verification).
Perform quality inspection during production runs, mend voids in carpets as required
Change backing as required
Doff off carpet rolls as required
Stay informed of applicable OSHA and company guidelines and operating procedures, and proactively identify unsafe working, building, and other environmental conditions to management and/or appropriate department resolution.
Ensure compliance to all company and regulatory safety and environmental guidelines and practices to include wearing the appropriate safety garments, using the appropriate tools and equipment, and exercising the required safety behaviors for the task at hand.
Perform other duties as required
Be able to verify creel lots and different colors
