Print Line Supervisor - Resilient (1st shift)

Position Purpose: to oversee employees so that production is executed as safely, effectively, and efficiently as possible. To lead by example and work as a mentor for all employees in the film plant, providing guidance and sharing knowledge to ensure all jobs can be done safely and properly. To support the department manager and plant manager.

 

Reports to: Department Manager, Production Manager

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for his/her personal safety as well as the safety of others.
  2. Ensures every team member is properly trained in all aspects of their job(s).
  3. Ensures every team member is up to date on all safety training and certifications.
  4. Ensures all team members are up to date on all Employee Central assignments.
  5. Spends 95% of his/her time on the production floor.
    1. Time will be equally split among the 3 lines unless a safety or mechanical/electrical issue requires additional time.
  6. Wears proper uniform every day; company issued khakis and company shirt. Friday is the only exception.
  7. Be available by phone at all times, especially if issued a company phone.
  8. Responds to all correspondence (phone call/text/email) as promptly as possible.
  9. Leads teams and manages processes to ensure production goals are met.
  10. Completes all assigned tasks in a timely fashion. If a task can’t be completed within allotted timeframe, communicate reason via email to department manager promptly.
  11. Responsible for the accurate completion of all paperwork. Ensures that all paperwork is completed accurately and timely.
  12. Responsible for enforcing all policies and procedures.
  13. Provides guidance to team members in the film plant.
  14. Responsible for addressing concerns of supporting roles and escalating issues to management when appropriate.
  15. Promptly reports quality and/or production issues to department manager.
  16. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical issues to maintenance and department manager. Notifies the department manager if down for greater than one hour due to mechanical/electrical issues.
  17. Immediately reports to department manager if scheduled startup will be delayed by greater than one hour.
  18. Coordinates with maintenance department for the completion of periodic maintenance.
  19. Issues and manages maintenance notifications for the production line(s) he/she is responsible for.
  20. Manages all safety/policy sign-offs as required.
  21. Completes “Supervisor Weekly Inspection” on production lines for which he/she is responsible.
  22. Manages the Neighborhood Watch program on production lines for which he/she is responsible.
  23. Manages and reconciles attendance issues within Kronos.
  24. Coordinates trials with process engineers and department manager. Ensures trial plans are executed properly.
  25. Responsible for communicating all scheduling, projects, trials to the production lines.
  26. Responsible for managing PTO requests and ensures positions are covered properly.
    1. Requests from Shift Leads must be reviewed with Department Manager prior to approval/denial.
    2. All PTO requests during holidays must be reviewed with Department Manager prior to approval/denial.
  27. Responsible for 6S and the cleanliness of the film plant.
  28. Remains vigilant in identifying issues that may result in safety risks or production downtime.
  29. Thoroughly investigates all safety, quality, and production issues and conveys all pertinent information to the Department Manager.
  30. Anything asked to do by Department and/or Production Manager.
