What we need:

Mohawk is looking for a Network Support Technician to maintain and support network devices.  This position is challenged to maintain a high level of service on the enterprise’s local and wide area network as well as the voice and video network.  This must be accomplished in a heterogeneous and fast moving networking environment. 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Under direct supervision, monitors, operates, installs, and maintains telecommunications systems and equipment in addition to troubleshooting any type of hardware or software problems to ensure that systems perform in a manner which best meets business needs and objectives. 
  • Responds to software and hardware problems, configures, implements, installs, repairs, and maintains data, voice, and network communications systems, using hand tools and software and hardware testing instruments and techniques
  • Provide technical support and assistance to the end user community; serves as the point of contact for users to receive support and maintenance with telecommunications equipment, and works closely with the Support Center to insure high level of service to the end user.
  • Resolves telecommunication system failures through isolation, analysis, and troubleshooting of problem areas
  • Manage multiple telecommunication carriers; hands on knowledge with telecommunications configurations
  • Support other team members as well as participate on and lead small projects successfully
  • Recommend potential areas where procedures require change or where new ones need to be developed.
  • Understand technical manuals, software specifications, and hardware principles
  • Responsible for the management of all corporate liable wireless devices including the procurement, bill payment, and audit of all wireless accounts.  Also assist with the audit, bill payment, orders, and disconnects of all other Telecom inventory.
  • Demonstrated ability in vendor management, executing tasks related to audit of inventory, and evaluation of new technology
  • Other duties as required by management

 

What you’ll have:

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science or related discipline required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Knowledge of common concepts, practices and procedures within a certain field.
  • Zero to two years typical IT experience; 0-2 years technician experience
  • Proficient in MS Excel, JD Edwards, and Workflow applications
  • Basic accounting knowledge and the ability to learn Mohawk’s financial accounting system is required.

  • Good oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communications skills; ability to effectively exercise tact, discretion, judgment and diplomacy when interacting and/or negotiating with internal and external customers and ability to communicate with others in antagonistic situations using appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to reduce tension or conflict and maintain professionalism in accordance with corporate standards
  • Ability to present and explain technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gain understanding.
  • Ability to conduct studies and access internal and external communication practices
  • Organizational ability to redirect skills to support new technologies while maintaining current commitments; ability to perform in a high-pressure environment and/or crisis and render good decisions to resolve the problems, maintain safety and ensure adherence to Corporate Code of Conduct
