Responsibilities:

Technical expertise usually as a member of a project team in the design and development of business applications. Broad knowledge of various technical functions to develop requirements and specifications for new and existing application systems accurately anticipates organizational impact. Understands the procedures and expected system performance associated with introducing new technologies; and seeks ways to collaborate with other IS colleagues to facilitate systems integration and transitions. Projects are of significant complexity and require considerable experience in managing/leading large-scale development efforts. Oversees technical development or enhancement projects from concept to implementation using solutions in a multi-platform environment, including object-oriented applications, languages, third-party tools, client server-based tools, and comparable applications. May have responsibility for all technical phases of a project and regularly audits experienced team members. Leads junior team members by providing direction on the development and maintenance of new or existing business systems.

  • Oversees major applications integration efforts, including designs, codes, tests, installs, and supports complex, integrated applications systems; guides the customization, implementation and support of purchased package applications.
  • Analyzes and provides technical advice and direction regarding the interface/integration of supported systems with the rest of the application portfolio; examines how the supported applications can best serve business functions; recognizes the impact on proposed application changes and advises IS colleagues accordingly. Serves as the primary on-call support person; troubleshoots and performs directs and/or facilitates the action steps required to resolve complex cross-application problems/abends.
  • Develops, documents, and maintains best practices, project standards, procedures, application, quality objectives, and "lessons learned," including metrics for assessing progress; ensures that applications systems developed in a way that complies with architectural standards and established methodologies practices.
  • Serves as Project Manager or participates on project teams serving as an IT technical expert on strategic long-range and highly complex projects that span the organization, crossing business unit boundaries; as a project manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of an assigned project team to meet project milestones; Proactively reviews and interprets performance against operating plans and standards; provides information and reports to subordinates on an interpretation of results and approves changes in plans; presents reports on project performance, modifications, enhancements, scope variations, and other related matters and/or participates in crucial management activities and committees advising project sponsors or senior management accordingly
  • Performs other duties as required


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline with an information technology focus. Masters preferred or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job, and In-depth technical knowledge, with hands-on experience managing systems development in new computing architectures and environments.
  • 10+ years experience with Java/J2EE, Oracle PL/SQL programming, Spring Framework  REST Web-Services, Angular, React, JSP, HTML5, Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery and Ajax HTML, Object-Oriented design & analysis, and mentoring associates/colleagues.
  • 8+ years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated professional growth and achievement. Experience must include
  • 6+ years experience with web-based or client-server systems (Java, Rest web services, Angular, Spring framework, Oracle).
  • Prior work experience in an organization of comparable size, business diversity, scope, and complexity a plus
  • Proficient using PC, Internet and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Project 98, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of system development life cycle, dynamics of applications development projects, Information Technology practices, and methods.
  • Demonstrated experience and broad knowledge of the principles, techniques, and methodology of project management, quality management, and change management. Experience organizing, planning, and executing projects from vision through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors; ability to analyze projects and determine resources needed to meet objectives.

Associates Supervised:

Temporary indirect reporting relationships may exist while working as Project lead. May be required to act in a senior role, providing task-related advice and direction to junior team members
