Market Researcher - UNILIN

UNILIN produces laminate, engineered parquet and luxury vinyl flooring under the Quick-Step and Pergo brand as well as wood-based panels (particle board, MDF), decorative panels, roof systems and insulation boards. Intellectual Properties



  • You start with an extended training on our patented and licensed flooring products. Due to these trainings you will become an expert in the full range of our licensed products. This knowledge will enable you to analyze if different products in the market are violating our portfolio.
  • Once you are an expert you will focus on market research. You will map in US all products and producers of hard floor covering. This involves studying all the different laminate floor producers and their respective products, but also the producers of parquet, cork and veneer floors … and their respective products. This means a lot of desk research (internet, magazines …) but also visiting fairs and doing trips within US & Canada.
  • You are willing to spend up to 50% of your time travelling. You go to the different points of sales (shops, outlet stores …) in order to look for potential violations. You record the irregularities by taking pictures, buying the products and sending samples to our Belgium office. At the same time you check how the products are displayed and collect the relevant information about products and competition.
  • When you are back at the office, you execute small tests on the samples and you write reports about your visits and keep the exhibits which will enable the legal department to take the necessary actions. These actions include sending warning letters to the shops. You will be involved in the drawing of these letters and you are responsible for the follow-up of it.
  • You are based in Calhoun and will report to the IP Legal Manager, based in Belgium.




  • Bachelor degree (marketing, sales, law or general economics). A first professional experience or experience in market research is an asset although not a must.
  • Technical product experience
  • Strong administration skills one the one hand and have a taste for adventure on the other hand.
  • Independent nature as the role will entail long periods of individual travel.
