What we need:
Mohawk is looking for a Payroll Administrator II who can do more for all Mohawk North America brands across residential, distributor and builder multifamily divisions.
This position handles moderate to complex payroll functions that include assisting with SAP testing for new Payroll information / processes, monitoring Payroll interfaces into supporting systems, performing month-end and year-end processing / analytics, and producing on-demand queries and reports as needed. This position also assists with quarterly and year-end reconciliation and reporting processes and serves as back-up to other positions in the Payroll department as needed. This role will be responsible for fostering relationships with all Payroll Third Party vendors and will work with the Payroll Supervisor on all special projects. This position will assist the Payroll Supervisor with all Payroll tasks and will be considered Team Lead in his/her absence. This position reports to the Payroll Manager.
What you’ll do:
- Assist in SAP testing for new Payroll processes / information.
- Review and ensure accurate computation of pay and interpret company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures.
- Interface payroll into supporting systems : SAP, ADP, Banking.
- Assist with quarterly and year-end reconciliations and processing. Balance wage and withholding information periodically in order to ensure that year-end processing transitions smoothly.
- Foster positive relationships with all Payroll Third Party Vendors.
- Work with Payroll Supervisor on all special projects.
- Prepares and creates standard and ad hoc reports.
- Serve as back-up to other Payroll personnel as needed to cover areas that may be understaffed due to temporary absence.
What you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field required.
- 3-5 years prior payroll system experience or any combination of education and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures in the payroll field.
What you’re good at:
- Excellent proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated experience developing spreadsheets with formulas.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to resolve problems independently.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to share knowledge and skills with internal customers and team members, and to collaborate with internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated knowledge of payroll business procedures and principles. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Discretion to work with sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy in a multi-task environment, paying attention to detail and preventing errors which could result in financial loss or loss of goodwill.
- Ability to set priorities and accomplish results under general directions.
- Effective time-management skills to assist in special projects.
