What we need: 

Mohawk is looking for a Business Development Manager for the Ontario, Quebec and Maritimes region. This individual will be responsible for growth of the company’s products and services within the Aladdin Commercial product line. Expand billings with existing customers as well as billing new accounts with potential customers. Ensure consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning, deployment and direction of sales personnel. Identifies objectives, strategies and action plans to improve overall contributions to Aladdin Commercial, in accordance with company goals. Collaborates with Regional Vice President, District and Territory Managers to develop sales goals and drive initiatives set for Aladdin Commercial, communicating weekly/monthly results on the status of those goals. Establishes and manages effective programs to coach, train, support, and mentor District and Territory Managers. Manages the assigned geographic sales area to maximize sales revenues and meet company objectives. 

 

What you’ll do:  

  • Help specify new construction and seek builder opportunities
  • Conducts weekly sales calls - includes servicing existing customers, traveling with Territory Managers, as well as calling on potential customers.

  • Work in conjunction with sales leadership to participate in regional meetings

  • Develops monthly strategy for sales calls and prepares monthly travel calendar based on that strategy.

  • Conducts area market analysis of top accounts in respective area.

  • Researches area market product data to determine the most commonly purchased products and to determine a sales strategy.

  • Collaborates with sales, operations and product management team to ensure the sales teams are exceeding the product and service needs of the customer.

  • Accurately forecasts annual, quarterly, and monthly sales targets.

  • Ability to work and communicate with diverse groups, achieve results, persuade salespeople and drive growth.

  • Problem solving and analytical skill to interpret sales performance and market trend information.

  • Grow market share by increasing sales and sales volume, while maintaining company approved product margin goals.

  • Utilizes influence and negotiation skills to sell and/or place displays in customer’s showrooms.

  • Establish personal contact and rapport with client via phone calls, letters and/or emails.

  

What you have: 

  • High school diploma required; college degree or equivalent experience with working knowledge of the carpet industry is required; degree in marketing or business studies is preferred or a minimum of one-three years of related experience or training which provides the required knowledge; skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s diverse business and product lines.
  • Knowledge of the terms, concepts and practices of the marketing and sales environment, to include basic accounting, product developments and manufacturing procedures, distribution, customer service, etc.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use other in-house database systems.

  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
