Primary Objective:
The Production Supervisor takes a lead role in meeting/exceeding plant KPI targets for safety, quality, costs, customer service and associate satisfaction/development within the Molding Manufacturing Plant. The Production Supervisor coaches, trains, supports, and develops a team of flexible, multi-skilled associates within a high-speed manufacturing plant.
Major Scope and Function:
- Drive continuous improvement within critical plant KPI’s (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People), by consistently tracking the appropriate measures and driving appropriate response behaviors with a sense of urgency.
- Passionately drive a high-performance work team to achieve breakthrough performance in Customer Excellence, Manufacturing Growth, Process Excellence, and a Culture of Outperformance.
- Problem solves to Root Cause; implement corrective actions to eliminate recurrence.
- Ensure the desired product quality levels are achieved through use of standard work and training to those standards, training in operation and inspection techniques, and use of tools/data.
- Support and foster an environment of continuous improvement by encouraging associates to challenge existing processes and implement solutions that enhance the overall effectiveness of the operation.
- Provide supervision in personnel scheduling, ensuring effective selection, retention, feedback, disciplinary action and performance management
- Drive 5S principles and continuous improvement activities within area of responsibility. Participate in developing and leading lean manufacturing initiatives to improve Plant performance.
- Ensure a safe work environment for all employees through implementation and maintenance of company directed safety programs, compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements, and promotion of a strong preventative safety culture. Maintain high level of visibility with employees. Use hands-on approach to communicate daily and involve associates in problem solving.
- Facilitate Team Meetings, Safety Meetings, and Department Meetings
- Identifying, coaching, and advancement of team members throughout the organization
Knowledge, Experience, Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree, Associates Degree, or significant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Lean Manufacturing experience required
- Excellent computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Strong math skills including the knowledge of arithmetic, basic algebra, geometry, and statistics, and their applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, and the ability to motivate and develop a large production team.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
