What we need:

 

The Manager Engineering is a first-level manager that leads the day-to-day activities of an Engineering team that works to facilitate and support the Engineering function. This role will oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of maintenance activities for production equipment and machinery.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans for production equipment and machinery.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to ensure timely and efficient execution of tasks.
  • Perform routine inspections and diagnostics to identify equipment issues and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Provide direction to team according to established policies and management guidance.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions and breakdowns.
  • Coordinate repair activities and resources to minimize downtime and ensure rapid resolution of issues.
  • Analyze equipment performance data and maintenance records to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop strategies to enhance equipment reliability, optimize maintenance schedules, and reduce breakdowns.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history.
  • Generate maintenance reports and documentation to track performance metrics and key indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, standards, and procedures related to maintenance activities.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to best practices among maintenance team members.
  • Act as an advisor to unit or sub-units and may become actively involved in resolving problems.
  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies.
  • Review relevant factors to analyze situations and resolve issues.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

 

What you have:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field preferred.
  • 6-8 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 1-3 years of management experience.

  • High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.

 

 

What else?

 

  • This employee will be responsible for direct reports.
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions caused by noise, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and other conditions associated with a high-traffic production floor.
  • Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time.
  • Bending, crouching, and stooping may be required.
  • Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled facilities.
  • The work environment may be a noisy, high traffic manufacturing production floor.
  • May be required to work a flexible schedule to include evening and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
