Primary Objective: 

Responsible for manufacturing line reliability and readiness, utilizing best maintenance and safety practices. 

 

Major Function and Scope:  

  • Responsible for technical uptime of assigned manufacturing line 

  • Maximizes equipment availability using planned maintenance activities, improvement projects, and upgrades 

  • Provides hands on training and mentoring within the maintenance team 

  • Plans, schedules, executes, and documents routine TPM events  

  • Collaborates directly with operations and technical team to prioritize and improve TPM processes 

  • Maintains required critical spare parts, inventory accuracy, and 5S efforts. 

  • Provides troubleshooting support and assists in developing standards for maintenance procedures and processes 

  • Utilizes a CMMS (SAP, or similar) to track, predict, prevent, and plan maintenance activities, such as TPM, work orders, routine checks, and inspections 

  • Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision  

  • Follow all established standard operating procedures  

  • Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary 

  • Perform other tasks assigned by management 

  

Type of Experience and Knowledge: 

  • Formal training and practical experience in an industrial manufacturing setting as an Electro-Mechanical Technician, Engineering Technician or Automation Technician 

  • 3 years of experience in an automated manufacturing environment 

  • 1 year of experience with PLC troubleshooting or programming 

  • 1 year of experience in a maintenance role utilizing fabrication 

  • 1 year of experience leading projects or direct supervisory experience 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 

  •  Proven leadership ability, including leading safely and effectively through project completion under time constraints present in manufacturing environments 

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, including attention to detail and organization work 

  • Familiarity with PLC programming and troubleshooting techniques 

  • Technology and automation minded, with a strong understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, AC/DC Electricity, gearboxes, robotics and tools 

  • Demonstrated time management abilities, including the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision  

  • Ability to interpret and produce technical reports, electrical drawings and schematics 

  • Safety-minded, including knowledge of LOTO and appropriate safe use of specialty and common hand tools 

  • Capable of working a range of hours as needed to accommodate troubleshooting, projects, TPM activities, training, or other duties as assigned 

 

Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information:  

  • This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be exposure to noise from machinery, dust, fumes and variable temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required. 

  • Other working conditions may include working a fixed shift and mandatory on-call time, including holidays. 

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.; bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs are required.
