Primary Objective:  

Monitors and loads material as needed to safely produce quality backer, décor and overlay products  

 

Major Function and Scope:  

  • Ensures compliance with all company safety rules and procedures.

  • Reads and analyzes work orders and production schedules to determine production requirements.

  • Inspects materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.

  • Prepares, loads, and monitors raw materials, including quality testing.

  • Controls and adjusts machine settings in the infeed area.

  • Operates IFA system (manual batching, recipe changes, start-up and shutdown production orders)

  • Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision   

  • Follow all established standard operating procedures   

  • Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary  

  • Perform other tasks assigned by management  

 

Type of Experience and Knowledge:  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required  

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment required -  experience in paper, coating, or chemical handling preferred  

  • Experience with data analysis techniques and process improvement methods  

  • Good computer literacy, including Excel skills required  

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal  

  • Ability to work independently   

  • Strong organizational abilities and understanding of necessity for process improvement  

  

Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information:  

  • This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be regular exposure to noise from machinery, dust, fumes and variable temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required. 

  • Other working conditions may include working long hours and flexible shifts, including holidays  

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.; bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs are required
