Primary Objective:   

Responsible for conducting scheduled servicing of all facility HVAC systems including exhaust and supply fans, air cooled chillers, and thermal oil boilers.  

 

Major Function and Scope:  

  • Monitor, maintain, calibrate, and alter the building HVAC systems. 

  • Maximizes equipment availability using planned maintenance activities.

  • Collaborate with other departments and vendors to update, design, and install systems as necessary and during expansion projects. 

  • Operation of powered industrial trucks, including but not limited to forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts. 

  • Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.

  • Follow all established standard operating procedures.

  • Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.

  • Perform other tasks assigned by management.

  

Types of Experience and Knowledge: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid Driver's License.

  • Relevant licenses and certifications.

  • 5+ years experience in HVAC service and installation preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding in operation and maintenance of the following:

    • Various types of air handling units and air distribution systems.  

    • Various types of chillers, chilled water system and cooling towers. 

    • Thermal oil boilers.  

    • Dehumidification systems.  

  • Applied knowledge in the area of life safety, mechanical and building codes. 

  • Thorough knowledge in, and experience with, utilizing technical service manuals, electrical schematics, and blueprints.  

  • Familiarity with Trane equipment and programs a plus.

  • Ability to analytically troubleshoot electronic, electrical, and mechanical equipment issues using a variety of testing equipment.

  • Heavy industrial machine operation experience, scissor list and boom operation preferred.

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and other systems. 

 

Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information:   

  • This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be regular exposure to noise from machinery, variable temperatures, and additional department-specific variables. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required, and may include hearing protection, safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, and eye protection.  

  • Other working conditions may include working fixed shifts, including holidays, and on call hours.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.; walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs are required.
