Facilities Electrician - Installation

What we need:  

Mohawk is looking for an Electrician who will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of required electrical equipment necessary to support the Facilities Team in providing a safe and efficient production environment for the manufacturing of laminate flooring.  

What you’ll do:  

• Installation and removal of all electrical and electronic equipment.  

• Select proper equipment size, wire and conduit sizes, breaker sizes and fuse sizes from appropriate catalogs.  

• Ability to install all types of conduit.  

• Ability to troubleshoot all types of electrical and electronic hardware.  

• Understanding PLC programming and troubleshooting.  

• Ability to troubleshoot, repair/replace mechanical equipment.  

• Operates powered industrial truck (PIT) as needed. 

• Analyzes and resolves work problems. 

• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision  

• Follow all established standard operating procedures  

• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary 

• Perform other tasks assigned by management 

What you have: 

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.  

• 2+ years of experience in industrial electricity, both AC and DC voltage, single and three phase applications required. Manufacturing or similar large facility experience preferred.  

• Experience with a range of electronic components, including PLCs, necessary.  

• Must prior experience with forklifts or PITs. 

What you’re good at: 

• Experience with attention to detail tasks required.  

• Demonstrated ability to work independently on projects from assignment to completion.   

• Ability to interpret and utilize electrical schematics as needed.  

• Ability to produce and communicate technical reports.  

• Ability to utilize necessary digital tools, including email and work orders.   

What else? 

• This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be fluctuating temperatures, and additional department-specific variables. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required, and may include hearing protection, safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, and eye protection.    

• Other working conditions may include working 12-hour shifts and a fixed shift rotation, including holidays.   

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders, and stairs are required.
