Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer Project Manager

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Estimate production costs, cost saving methods, and the effect of production projects for management review, action, and control.
  2. Demonstrates the ability to coordinate projects from the initial request phase to the completion and close out phase including production planning and budgeting, coordinating subcontractors, awarding contracts, onsite verification, tracking of schedule and costs, constant communication, and ability to close out a project finalizing all of the necessary deliverables required for the project.
  3. Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
  4. Report time schedule variance to the Plant Engineer Maintenance Manager for review, action, and control.
  5. Analyze engineered drawings and specifications as well as draft & and design the development of drawings and specifications.
  6. Review production projects within contractual cost and schedule guidelines.
  7. Review output/documentation/deliverables for adequacy of quality and quantity.
  8. Coordinate and implement quality control objectives, activities, or procedures to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, or minimize costs.
  9. Develop and manage vendors as per contractual agreements.
  10. Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
  11. Document and communicate all change requests, and review change requests with Plant Engineer Maintenance Manager prior to implementing.
  12. Communicate with the Plant Engineer Maintenance Manager, on a weekly basis, regarding the status of all Job(s)/Project(s) which have been assigned.
  13. Assure work on the job is performed to expectations and requirements along with all Dal-Tile policies and procedures.

 

This position has twenty (20) direct reports:

  • Sr. Production Planning Coordinator (1)
  • Sr. Digi Glaze Technician (1)
  • Electromechanical Engineer (1)
  • Maintenance Technician III (10)
  • Maintenance Technician IV (4)
  • Maintenance Technician V (3)

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, plus the following experience:
  1. 2 years of progressive project management experience within a ceramic tile manufacturer that must include EACH OF THE FOLLOWING:
  • personnel management
  • weekly engagement with organizational leadership
  • vendor engagement and approval
  • production budget management.
  1. 2 years of experience designing and implementing processes and tools for ceramic tile manufacturing.
  • Experience may be gained concurrently.
