  1. Obtain an identified defective roll of fabric, placing it on the loading table using a powered industrial truck.
    1. Operates powered industrial truck and follows all rules and procedures.
      1. Change propane tank on powered industrial equipment, when needed.
      2. Before using powered industrial truck complete “Pre-Shift Industrial Truck Inspections”, turn checklist in to supervisor office.
  1. Performs fabric inspection based on documented acceptance criteria.
  2. Observes fabric for defects such as broken picks, slubs, stripbacks, untucked selvages, etc. and repairs mendable defects. 
  3. Alerts the shift Supervisor/Department Manager and manufacturing of any quality problems observed during inspection of rolls being ticketed or inspected.
  4. Thread and use sewing machine and change needle in sewing machine.
  5. Other required procedures: count picks per inch, measure width of fabric, and starting machine.
  6. Records vital information on all rolls sent to the inspection table to enable follow-up.
  7. Makes a 6th quality ticket and after determining fabric quality, records and makes a finished ticket using correct procedure.
  8. After completing inspection, using a powered industrial truck transports roll of fabric from the inspection table to the strapping table. 
  9. Remove excess tails using clippers and attach a finished ticket to the end disc.  The end disc is placed on the core and secured with a wire tie.
  10. Distributes appropriate forms/papers.
  11. Performs roll out checks on fabric.
  12. Performs audits on looms and walk looms looking for defects as required.
  13. Completes fabric audit report.
  14. Performs yardage check audits on looms.
  15. General Duties
    1. Participate in Safety programs and Neighborhood Watch.
    2. Works safely and orderly.
    3. Notify supervision of any hazardous or unsafe conditions.
    4. Maintains clean and orderly work area.
    5. Perform all necessary miscellaneous work pertaining to the above job duties.

Any other duties assigned by management.

  • Must maintain high standards for work quality and safety.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to move from one task to another without direction.
  • Must be able to work independently and continue working without interrupting others.
  • Basic computer knowledge to enter data. 
  • Ability to check and re-check the work of others considering accuracy, standards and learned best practices.
  • Ability to safely operate weaving machines, including starting and stopping the machine, threading yarn breaks, tying knots, and general maintenance.

Excellent documentation and recordkeeping skills are required
