Primary Objective
- Oversees, coordinates, and takes ownership for activities to stock inventory, maintain inventory accuracy, perform cycle counts and sustain housekeeping in Cut-Mill, Pack-Pad, Molding, and Office areas and satellite parts rooms.
Major Function and Scope
- Complies with company safety rules and procedures.
- Encourages others to follow safety procedures.
- Oversees and coordinates Inventory Control and Cycle Counting activities for the assigned storerooms and areas, including processing issue slips, stocking parts, performing cycle counts, and reporting on progress in SQDC meeting settings.
- Conducts cycle counts to ensure all parts are counted in order to meet the scheduled deadline from finance.
- Leads housekeeping efforts in the storerooms, including tidying, sweeping, cleaning, retiring obsolete bins, removing non-inventory parts, ensuring proper and clear labeling of all bins and parts, and encouraging others to help maintain a clean space.
- Is a constant example of following part room rules and procedures. Orients/trains new employees on parts room rules prior to recommending they receive access to the room. Confirms when training is complete so access control can be granted. Retrains existing employees as needed.
- Makes recommendations to improve inventory storage locations (additional racks, safer storage options, etc.) and address unmet needs within the parts rooms.
- Monitors production usage on inventoried parts and notes discrepancies, offering permanent solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Participates in Verusen recommendation validation process as requested.
- When necessary, supports other plants with cycle counting and inventory issues.
- Assists with other department activities involving Receiving, holding direct materials, adding parts to inventory, etc. as needed.
- Participates and contributes in daily SQDC huddle, and occasional kaizen and 5S events.
- Identifies and suggests process and area improvement ideas.
- Confers with team members to coordinate activities within departments or between departments.
- Uses information systems (SAP, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Fills in for team members as needed.
- Operates forklift, unloads trucks, and stocks inventory in main and satellite warehouses as needed.
- Conducts various Inventory Management projects related to space constraints and material flows.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by management.
Types of Experience and Knowledge
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Achieves minimum acceptable levels on Work Keys assessment tests for Applied Mathematics, Applied Technology, Locating Information and Reading for Information.
- Knowledge of inventory management.
- 1 - 3 years of inventory experience.
- Forklift operator experience required.

Physical Requirements
- This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be regular exposure to chemicals, noise from machinery, dust, fumes and variable temperatures.
- Other working conditions may include working long hours and flexible shifts, including holidays
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.; bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs are required.
