What we need:
Mohawk is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer to develop and implement plans for highly complex and financially significant improvements and maintenance projects for our Commercial Division.
This position provides project management for cross-disciplinary engineering functions, including operating budgets, project measurements, and control for capability, efficiency, quality, timelines, and safety.
What you’ll do:
- Manage the development, assessment, and implementation of highly complex production processes to maximize the efficiency of the operations at one or more plant locations.
- Provide plans, projects, and design systems that increase productivity by improving the integration of people, materials, systems, equipment, and finance.
- Research, recommend, and implement more efficient and safer carpet-making processes using new, existing, or modified machinery, equipment, or systems.
- Manage the research, recommendations, and implementation of changes to work methods, materials, machinery, manpower allocation, and safety measures for projects of high complexity and financial significance.
- Lead the design, programming, simulation, testing, and implementation of automated machinery and processes to complete exact tasks.
- Provides internal consulting services including process mappings, process and layout design, ROI analysis, and vendor recommendations.
- Analyze and improve manufacturing costs, manage all labor budgets, Manage and oversee all capital project budgeting
What you have:
- Bachelor’s in Engineering required. Masters preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing, 10+ years of experience preferred.
- History of success leading highly complex projects, including those with large financial impact and with environmental compliance
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software
- Six Sigma and LEAN experience preferred
- Experience in automation and robotics in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in MS Project and other system software and databases
What you’re good at:
- Communicating with Senior Management and a wide range of internal and external customers, including in high-conflict situations.
- Challenging established practices, selling new ideas, and exercising good judgment to resolve problems in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
- Mentoring others and leading diverse teams to achieve results.
- Designing and maintaining Industrial Engineering databases of high complexity at a facility or multiple warehouse levels (AS400 and SAP)
- Great technical, mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
