What we need:

Mohawk is looking for a R&D Engineer who can do more with Mohawk.

This position will be responsible for conducting R&D projects to develop products and procedures in the manufacturing of flooring products, focusing on material performance and requirements.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the technical development of new product compositions, aiming to solve specific customer needs.
• Identify product and process improvement opportunities, working in collaboration with manufacturing.
• Work with manufacturer to design and execute experiments in order to achieve process and product improvements.
• Pursue industry partnerships for the development of new technologies in advanced manufacturing
• Devise new approaches to complex problems through adaptations and modifications of standard technical principles
• Incorporate new methods and technologies for improving existing or new products/processes.

• Work with appropriate support groups to assess product impact of manufacturing deviations and write product impact statements

What you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Material Science (Chemical, Process or Industrial preferred)
• Minimum of three to five year’s prior work experience working on engineering projects of moderate to high complexity or alternatively, advance degree in Chemical Engineering or Material Science
• A willingness to learn on the job and grow your career

What you’re good at:

• Working collaboratively as part of a fast-paced team, with strong personal organization, poise and professionalism
• Strong presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of management, internal, and external business contacts.
• Self-starter, technical aptitude, strong mathematical, analytical skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of system software, PC proficiency- Access, Excel, Word and MS Project and other databases
• Demonstrated ability to design, develop and maintain Industrial Engineering databases

• While we’re a primarily in-office team, we thrive on flexibility and ensuring our people can balance personal and professional time
• There will be some travel involved, approximately 15-20%
