What we need:

Mohawk is looking for a Press Operator who can achieve more for the Mohawk Wood & Laminate division.  This person will be a leading performer who will safely monitor the Press line and help to produce quality products that are up to documented standards. 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Comply with all company safety rules and procedures.
  • Monitor product and process to ensure quality of product to documented procedures; takes action to minimize non-conforming products.
  • Monitor and adjusts machine parameters as needed to ensure proper product alignment for embossed-in-register requirements and physical core/décor alignment.
  • Perform regular quality tests and measurements using proper procedures, gauges, and tools.
  • Patrol the Press line to ensure efficiency and utilization goals are met/exceeded.
  • Help to identify issues affecting line performance and escalate as needed.
  • Support maintenance efforts on the equipment to assure timely resolution of problems.
  • Understand equipment and product set-up requirements to perform efficiently.
  • Coordinate and execute production according to published schedule.
  • Resolve small alarms on the Press line to maximize uptime.
  • Perform required PM.
  • Load, unload, and move material using forklift when needed.
  • Performs required housekeeping in work areas.
  • Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervisor.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management.

 

What you have:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience in a fast-paced work environment
  • 3+ years of experience with automated machines
  • 3+ years of experience adjusting machine to produce quality product.
  • Forklift experience or willingness to learn to operate forklift.

 

What you’re good at:

 

  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

 

 What else?

 

  • This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be regular exposure to chemicals, noise from machinery, dust, fumes, and extreme temperatures.
  • Other working conditions may include working long hours and flexible shifts, including holidays.
  • Required safety equipment: steel toed shoes, ear plugs, gloves, and safety glasses.
  • Must be able to lift to 50lbs.; bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs are required.
