What we need:

 

Mohawk is looking for a Lift Truck Operator II to excel in our manufacturing plant.  This person is responsible for all material handling within the Shipping department and maintaining line efficiencies by unloading the line and loading trucks with finished goods.

 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Fills out pre-shift inspection forms before getting on forklift.
  • Complete dock inspections every time before entering any trailer at any of our dock doors.
  • Loads and unloads trailers as required.
  • Uses computerized inventory system to verify that each pallet of material matches the manufacturing order before loading onto a truck to be shipped.
  • Operates the label machine and troubleshoots stops when they occur.
  • Change out label and print rolls at the label machine.
  • Uses business operation systems such as Shopfloor and Cams to load trucks, change orders, and ensure that pallets are set to the correct count.
  • Operating the hooder machine and troubleshooting stops when they occur
  • Perform quality checks on finished goods pallets to ensure quality of the finished good pallet (stacking of boxes, hooder film on all four corners, hooder film overlapping on wooden pallet, and the overall quality of the finished product packaging.)                                     
  • Operate material handling equipment including powered industrial trucks, hoists, pallet jacks, and floor scrubbers to complete job duties and tasks.
  • Informs line operators of materials staged on the floor and in the production line.
  • Communicates to oncoming shift about any concerns with the trailer count, material left behind, or any concerns that you may have had during your shift.
  • Returns empty pallets to the correct area.
  • Change propane tanks on forklift during the shift when needed.
  • Performs housekeeping duties such as sweeping floors, taking out trash and other housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Takes out recycle cans on recycle day and brings them back in after they are picked up.
  • Compliant with all operations procedures and safety policies/processes
  • Other duties as assigned by members of management
  • Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervisor

 

What you have:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift driving experience required
  • Ability to operate on-board RF equipment and have a basic understanding of the AS-400 system.

 

What you’re good at:

  • Good oral/written communication skills to communicate with others on the team and in related support areas.
  • Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations, including conversion to metric.

 

What else?

  • Must be able to lift 50 - 80 lbs. numerous times throughout shift.
  • Must be able to work a full 12-hour shift on a rotating schedule.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, push, pull and reach for long periods of time.
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift or any amount of hours deemed necessary by management
