What we need:

 

Mohawk is looking for a Sr Manager Production senior-level manager that can proactively lead a team of employees and is focused on supporting the Production function by overseeing the production planning, staffing, and manufacturing operations in a cost-effective manner. This role oversees operational functions through direct reports that prioritize production, deliver on budget requirements, and effectively achieve departmental goals with an emphasis on leadership and growth.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Oversees plans for production operations for locations and establish priorities and sequences for products for the department; monitor priority list and schedules to ensure that orders are processed based on priority and customer promise dates are met.
  • Partner with the Maintenance and/or Engineering leadership to plan and coordinate routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance to maximize equipment availability and production output as well as minimize production downtime and operational delays.
  • Work with Manufacturing leadership to plan, develop and control budgets to ensure cost-effective and efficient processes are in place in the residential reinspect area.
  • Set clear expectations for team members; solicit and deliver feedback.
  • Proactively seek ways to apply technology to business processes, researching and providing information on technical trends and competitors’ practices; stay abreast of industry trends, technology changes and best practices, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance production technology and process flows as well as operating and tactical plans to improve efficiency and product quality as well as manage cost.
  • Continue to contribute to ongoing function work while overseeing the delivery of multiple projects.
  • Work towards managing deliverables through the work of others and focusing team efforts by using metrics for success.
  • Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect immediate organization.
  • Provide guidance to team within the latitude of established company policies.
  • Follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining cross-functional or departmental solutions.
  • Work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
  • Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.
  • Frequently interact with functional peer groups, other company divisions, or customers of the company.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

 

 

What you have:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 6-8 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years of management experience.

What else?

  • This employee will be responsible for direct reports.
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions caused by noise, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and other conditions associated with a high-traffic production floor.
  • Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time.
  • Bending, crouching, and stooping may be required.
  • Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled facilities.
  • The work environment may be a noisy, high traffic manufacturing production floor.
  • May be required to work a flexible schedule to include evening and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
