What we need:
The R&D Manager is a leading performer that manages multiple complex research and development projects and processes by leveraging to resolve a wide range of research, manufacturing, and production issues. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing R&D projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
What you’ll do:

Conceive and develop new process technologies.

Manage and lead large cross-functional projects.

Serve as a consultant to leadership on R&D projects and innovations.

Perform high quality analysis and oversees the analysis conducted by R&D Engineers.

Find ways to assess and apply innovative ideas to enhance business results.

Coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level professionals.

Provide expert process and technical support for R&D projects implemented in manufacturing.

Oversee the transfer of new products and technologies from laboratory prototypes to production scale.

Influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures around R&D and manufacturing.

Contribute to departmental strategy and goal development.

Creatively and strategically support key business objectives.

Proactively investigate and/or lead investigation of alternative approaches, technologies, or partnerships.

Collaborate with and may lead functional or cross-functional teams to generate solutions to complex problems.
-
Use scientific and engineering principles to develop new materials and products to support R&D and manufacturing projects. Develop new test methods where applicable.

Perform physical and analytical testing of laboratory prototypes using standard test equipment.

Perform other duties as needed.
What you have:
-
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
-
6-8 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control required.

Able to set up, run and/or interpret results from a wide variety of laboratory test equipment.

What else?

Temporary indirect reporting relationships may exist while working as Project lead. May be required to act in senior role, providing task related advice and direction to junior team members.
