Jobs are trained on the plant floor. Qualifications including knowledge, skills and abilities are major considerations. If all things are considered equal, seniority will be the determining factor. To be eligible you must have been employed for 6 months, in your current position for 6 months and have no more than 1 written corrective action.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing classroom and job site instruction to new employees which includes assimilating them to the plant environment
- Responsible for safety, quality, environmental training assuring a solid base for new and existing employees
- Provide plant orientation for new employees which includes but is not limited to: safety, environmental, quality, ethics, and other subjects deemed appropriate for new employees
- Work with HR to comply with MPACT program for all new employees
- Assure all safety and training documentation is maintained and updated for all employees
- Assure all Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documentation is up to date and covered with the appropriate employees
- Assist in providing all safety training information that is deemed necessary by management
- Perform audits related to safety, quality, and environmental processes/practices in the facility/plant. Maintain records of these programs
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or GED
- Minimum of 3 years job specific experience preferred
- Proficient using a PC with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, as well as other department specific databases and/or systems such as Mohawk 1, AS400, etc.
- Must be Bi-Lingual
- College preferred
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with management, internal/external customers
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, systems, and product specifications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including working overtime on short notice and working all shift configurations
- Must commit to passing Mohawk Master Trainer Program including CPR Instructor program
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
