What we need:

The Automation Engineer is an established performer that works to facilitate and support the Engineering function and relevant projects by designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems and processes. This role helps to configure and maintain automation components and processes in manufacturing facilities.

 

What you'll do: 

  • Configure and integrate automation components such as sensors, actuators, and communication protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand automation requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for operators to monitor and control automated systems effectively.
  • Integrate different automation components and systems to ensure seamless communication and functionality.
  • Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of automation solutions to identify and resolve issues.
  • Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance overall quality.
  • Implement changes to streamline workflows and increase productivity.
  • Create detailed documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and standard operating procedures for implemented automation systems.
  • Perform accurate analyses, conduct research, and draw meaningful conclusions about potential job/work-area impacts.
  • Draw from prior experience, interpret facts, and identify incomplete data/anomalies to solve problems.
  • Use innovative solutions to enhance personal work and, where applicable, the work of the team.
  • Effectively apply functional, process, and procedural or technical knowledge to address business challenges.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to entry-level professionals.
  • Influence others within the job area through explanation of facts and policies to resolve routine issues.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

 

What you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 2-4 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

What you're good at:

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.

 

What else? 

  • Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions caused by noise, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and other conditions associated with a high-traffic production floor.
  • Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time.
  • Bending, crouching, and stooping may be required.
  • Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled facilities.
  • The work environment may be a noisy, high traffic manufacturing production floor.
  • May be required to work a flexible schedule to include evening and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
