Primary Objective:

Operate gasoline or electric-powered industrial trucks or tractors equipped with forklift and/or elevated platform to 
move materials. Duties are performed under general supervision following standard work procedures and guidelines.

Major Function and Scope: 

• Operates a pole, reach, or sheet truck
• Must be able to perform the following duties:
o Operates drive gasoline- or electric-powered trucks to transport materials between loading, processing, 
and storage areas
o Operates lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams and swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to 
load, unload, transport, and stack material
o Moves pallets, skids, and boxes, and secures material or products for transport to designated areas
o Dumps, sprays, or releases materials into hoppers
o Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment
o Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, cars, or lifting devices
o Operates or tends automatic stacking, loading, packaging, or cutting machines
o Weighs materials or products and records weight and other production data as required
o Records quality and output measures and completes any other necessary paperwork
o Performing a pre-shift daily inspection on the lift truck
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision 
• Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management

Type of Experience and Knowledge:
Knowledge, Experience, Certifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Lift Truck Certification preferred
• Successful completion of all required on the job training
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training
• 6+ months of forklift experience preferred
• Prior experience in a warehouse or as a general laborer preferred

Competencies:

Operate in a team-based environment

• Basic computer skills
• Basic math skills

Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information: 

• May require bending, squatting, climbing, and other physical movement for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Working around moving equipment and in an industrial environment
• Working in an environment where there may be regular exposure to chemicals, noise from machinery, dust, 
fumes, and variable temperatures
