What we need:

 

The Transportation Administrator supports the corporate transportation department through the administration of contracts, accounts payable, and analysis of common carrier (LTL / TL / IM) freight expenses across all divisions of Mohawk Industries. The position maintains a relationship between procured transportation, Freight payables provider, and Mohawk Industries.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Manage the onboarding process for procured transportation providers for Mohawk Industries
    • Must understand transportation contracts, rates (all modes), insurance requirements, running authorities, and D.O.T. compliance.
    • Communicate with vendors, vendor management team, and transportation team on outstanding deliverables.
  • Upload freight contracts to contract software and ensure contracts are reviewed and approved by the appropriate DOA (Delegation of Authority) members.
  • Manage accounts payable process for purchased transportation vendors
    • Use educated judgment to determine if exceptions are valid and provide manual approval for invoices in a timely fashion
    • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies with carriers and freight payment provider
    • Monitor shipment ratings from the freight payment provider and provide updates when applicable
    • Analyze billing trends and recommend possible automation opportunities
  • Analyze transportation expenditures and advise of potential savings
  • Control owner for SOX controls related to freight payments
  • Communicate with the planning team to ensure proper data inputs for shipments
  • Manage carrier relationships for payables and ensure balance dues are worked timely
  • Work with the finance lead to understand and implement GL coding rules and update as needed
  • Manage user accounts within the freight payment system and ensure proper controls are monitored for the new account created and deletion
  • Rate quotes and training assistance  
  • Order tracking/tracing as requested
  • Audit and troubleshoot billing          
  • Month-end and miscellaneous reporting
  • Research and analysis as requested
  • Identify and communicate areas for process improvements
  • Ad-hoc reporting as requested by Management
  • Cross-training with other department members

 

What you have:

 

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Bachelor’s diploma preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in transportation or finance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in AS400 & SAP
  • Basic knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX controls

  • Must be able to understand transportation contracts and apply for pricing programs

  • Must be able to multitask and switch gears when needed
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels inside and outside the organization required 
  • Perform advanced math calculations and apply accounting concepts with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure the completeness and accuracy of tasks
  • Must analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Must use solid judgment to understand all facts before making decisions
  • Must be able to implement change and recommend options to management
  • Calculate figures and amounts and apply concepts pertinent to the field
  • Must be an effective team member
  • Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills and to apply knowledge, procedure, and guidelines to resolve processing problems or issues
  • Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal relationship-building skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
