What we need:

 

Mohawk is looking for a Supervisor, Material Distribution II, to plan, organize and supervise day-to-day cut-to-order manufacturing, warehouse inventory, and distribution operations in North Georgia. The position is responsible for coordinating resources to ensure smooth and efficient operations while promoting a team environment.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Supervise distribution to ensure cut-to-order, and packing order activities are completed according to established time schedules, determining work priorities and assignments as required.
  • Communicate consistently with employees providing constructive feedback, establishing priorities, and monitoring the quality and quantity of work performed. 
  • Coordinate staffing and equipment needs to accomplish daily operational objectives in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
  • Monitor the safety, quality, and operation of equipment by verifying inspections, completing work orders, and scheduling maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of materials and supplies to satisfy daily operational demands.
  • Implement procedures to track material flow through assigned areas; ensure proper inventory procedures are followed; and oversee cycle counts, working with other departments as needed to correct errors. Process customer claims and returns.

 

What you have:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED, (college degree preferred) or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the skills and knowledge.
  • Four years of job-specific experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a lead or senior capacity.
  • Proficiency with department machinery including ability to troubleshoot problems and knowledge of preventative maintenance
  • Basic understanding of HR policies and practices
  • PC proficiency and ability to understand basic mathematical concepts and calculations.

  • Working in a high-pressure environment and exercising good judgment to resolve problems in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures

  • Challenging established practices and drawing relevant conclusions to sell new ideas within department.
  • Solicit ideas from a diverse group of employees for continuous improvement and shared practices.

 

 

What else?

 

  • This job involves walking long distances, stand for long periods of time, bending, stooping, and climbing or standing on machinery to make repairs, and managing while walking around being consistently available for employee communication and inter-action. 
  • The work environment is a noisy, high-traffic facility that may not be climate-controlled.
  • You will need to be flexible about your work schedule, including evening and night shifts, weekends and holidays.
