What we need:

 

Provides financial and accounting analysis for capital expenditures in the Mohawk Flooring North America Business Unit, and overall fixed asset management oversight and opportunity initiatives.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Coordinates and works with the business teams and prepare capital expenditure requests for all facilities within the North American Flooring segment.
  • Coordinates with business units the completion of post audits on all projects with approved spending greater than $250K.
  • Coordinates and works with Mohawk FNA locations to comply with fixed assets inventory requirements.
  • Monthly present fixed asset activity to Senior Management and provide updates on process improvement initiatives.
  • Interfaces with executive management and provides necessary analysis for decision-making and the approval process for all capital expenditures.
  • Maintains forecasts for all approved and budgeted capital expenditures to ensure yearly capital expenditures do not exceed authorized limits.
  • Monitors all construction in progress (CIP) accounts to ensure approved amounts are not exceeded and correct and mis-charges or prepare supplemental requests as necessary.
  • Responsible for the timely closure of CIP accounts for all fixed assets.
  • Completes post audits on all projects with approved spending greater than $250K.
  • Prepares the annual capital plan.
  • Coordinates and works with Mohawk SSC locations and manufacturing facilities to comply with fixed assets inventory requirements.
  • Prepares various ad-hoc comparative reports as required.

 

What you have:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline. MBA and CPA preferred.
  • 4+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience.

 

What you’re good at:

 

  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, Access and Power Point.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to influence top management.
  • Must be able to exercise independent judgment and work under minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated solid time management and organizational skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) and Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment and render good decisions to resolve the problems, maintain safety and ensure adherence to Corporate Code of Conduct.
