OBJECTIVE:

 

This position will develop and coordinate the production schedule in support of overall service and efficiency objectives. The Scheduling Expeditor will lead daily scheduling meetings with the management team, manage daily workflow of materials, close production orders daily and work with inventory control and production. This position requires the Scheduling Expeditor to be on call as needed to support the team after hours if the communication protocol through manufacturing managers cannot resolve the issue.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Identify, research and reconcile inventory issues, shortages and substitutions
  • Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping various teams informed of all critical issues which may keep the team from meeting daily and weekly plans
  • Coordinate and issue scheduling packets to manufacturing
  • Review schedules and priorities with the team
  • Review creel and setup needs to support the schedule
  • Monitor yarn availability
  • Sequence and schedule daily schedules to balance the creel changes and setups with available resources

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Minimum of 2 years of college or 5 years’ experience in leadership role in tufting environment

 

SKILLS:

 

  • Must have a solid understanding of the tufting process
  • Must understand how to read specification and understand products with similar construction that can be run together
  • Ability to provide a schedule to manufacturing that meets customer service needs and maximizes efficiency in production
  • Needs to be able to work well with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Needs to be a team player who can work with others to accomplish the company goals
  • Must be a forward thinker that is always looking for opportunities to improve performance and processes
  • Must be able to handle working in a stressful environment
  • Must be able to take on a leadership role in meetings and on the floor
  • Needs to have a working knowledge of Excel
  • Needs to have good communication skills both verbally and written
