What we need:
The Payroll Tax Specialist is an established performer that supports accurate payroll tax compliance across U.S. and Canadian operations by maintaining employee tax records, managing agency communications, and ensuring timely payment and reporting. This role partners closely with internal systems teams, payroll vendors, and government agencies to maintain compliance and resolve tax issues.
What you’ll do:

- Processes and maintains accurate payroll tax payments and records for both U.S. and Canadian employees.
- Maintains and updates employee tax records within payroll systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Performs weekly, quarterly, and annual tax reconciliations, balances payroll tax accounts, and initiates corrections when necessary.
- Partners with ADP to ensure timely resolution of all tax agency notices and avoid compliance risks.
- Attends tax-related training and stays informed of legislative changes that impact employer tax responsibilities.
- Supports internal and external audits by providing payroll tax documentation and analysis.
- Collaborates with internal payroll and finance teams to support tax reporting and filings.
- Maintains relationships with tax agencies, responds to tax notices, and supports audits and inquiries.
- Supports the implementation of payroll system updates related to tax configurations and compliance.
- Maintain documentation of tax processes and controls for compliance and audit readiness.
- Provides guidance and training to payroll staff on payroll tax issues.
- Works on projects and assignments as part of a large work team.
- Performs accurate analyses, conducts research, and draws meaningful conclusions about potential job/work-area impacts.
- Draws from prior experience, interprets facts, and identifies incomplete data/anomalies to solve problems.
- Uses innovative solutions to enhance personal work and, where applicable, the work of the team.
- Effectively applies functional, process, and procedural or technical imagination to address business challenges.
- Provide guidance and assistance to entry-level professionals.
- Influences others within the job area through explanation of facts and policies to resolve routine issues.
- Performs other duties as needed.
What you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
- 2-4 years relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.

- Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principals, industry practices and standards.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
- Proficient using Microsoft Suite of products.
