What we need:

The Manager of Accounting, Capital Expenditures (CAPEX), oversees the accounting functions and financial reporting activities specifically related to capital expenditures. This first-level manager plays a vital role in ensuring accurate CAPEX reporting, compliance, and process optimization. The position requires strong understanding of all CAPEX projects, strategic partnering with business unit leaders, reporting to upper management, and strong leadership skills.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Maintain compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act by ensuring the accuracy of CAPEX-related methods and controls in alignment with GAAP standards.

  • Oversee CAPEX transaction integrity in SAP, ensuring the proper recording and reporting of capital investments and fixed assets in the accounting system.

  • Manage the month-end closing process for CAPEX, including journal entries, account reconciliations, systems interface validations, and inter-company balancing related to capital assets.

  • Lead the preparation and analysis of annual CAPEX budgets, working with cross-functional teams to compile relevant financial data and documentation.

  • Conduct variance analyses for capital expenditure projects, presenting monthly CAPEX-related variances and insights to management.

  • Oversee and enhance the reconciliation process for CAPEX accounts, collaborating with segments to ensure timely and accurate account reviews.

  • Serve as the primary audit liaison for CAPEX-related matters, working with internal and external auditors to ensure SOX compliance for capital accounting activities.

  • Identify and implement improvements to CAPEX accounting processes to enhance efficiency and streamline operations.

  • Perform additional CAPEX-related duties as needed.

 

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

  • 6-8 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • CPA certification preferred.
