What we need:

 

The HR Operations Specialist is an established performer that supports the human resources operations department by ensuring that the organization adheres to all applicable employment laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role will partner with the HR team and other departments to ensure that all HR operations align with regulatory requirements and company standards. 

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the I-9 process to ensure compliance with federal regulations, including employment eligibility verification and re-verifications. 
  • Conduct regular audits of employee files to identify and rectify any compliance issues, and ensure corrective actions are implemented. 
  • Work with HR and Immigration partners to ensure the timely and accurate completion of I-9 forms, work document re-certifications, and other onboarding documentation for new hires. 
  • Assist in the development, review, and updating of HR policies to ensure they are current, compliant with legal requirements, and effectively communicated across the organization. 
  • Support the enforcement of HR policies, ensuring consistent application and understanding among employees and managers. 
  • Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations, assisting in the update of company policies to maintain compliance. 
  • Contribute to the maintenance and distribution of the employee handbook, ensuring it accurately reflects the latest policies and procedures. 
  • Ensure that HR operations comply with all relevant local, state, and federal employment laws, including but not limited to wage and hour laws, anti-discrimination regulations, and workplace safety standards. 
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports such as EEO-1, VETS-4212, and other regulatory filings as required. 
  • Support internal and external HR compliance audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries. 
  • Monitor and report on HR compliance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, providing insights to HR leadership. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within HR operations to enhance efficiency and compliance. 
  • Work on HR projects aimed at streamlining processes, improving data accuracy, and enhancing the employee experience. 
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to implement best practices and improve overall HR operations. 
  • Perform other duties as needed.  

 

What you have:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.    
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.    

 

What you’re good at:

 

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.  
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. 
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. 
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data. 
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
