What we need:

The Supervisor Fleet Maintenance is an entry-level leader that is responsible for the daily activities involved in the operation of fleet maintenance and repair. This role involves supervising procurement, logistics, and inventory, while assisting with cross-functional teams to enhance the efficiency of supply chain operations.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day activities involved in the operation of two fleet maintenance shops.
  • Plan scheduled repairs of tractors and trailers.
  • Utilize fleet maintenance software to track work orders, technician productivity, inventory, preventative maintenances schedules, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, OSHA standards, and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular safety training sessions for technicians.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers and fleet supervisors regarding repair status and expected times of completion.
  • Address driver and fleet supervisor inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Assist Inventory Coordinator with inventory management.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain good vendor relationships for parts and outsourced repairs.
  • Maintain down equipment list and communicate daily with fleets on repair status, estimated completion times, and actual completion time.
  • Supervision of shop technicians, mobile technicians, lead technicians, and inventory coordinator.
  • Performing Quality Control Inspections of repairs and PM’s.
  • Assisting in diagnosis and repairs of equipment as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 4-6 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
  •  0-2 years of management experience.

What you’re good at:

  • Requires experience in repairing semi-trucks and/or trailers.
  • Ability to use diagnostic software.
  • Ability to read and understand service manuals and troubleshooting trees.
  • Focused on and responsible for their team's productivity and collective impact.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, delegate, and manage time effectively.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player, and able to handle multiple projects at once.
  • High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
