Sales Training Specialist

What we need:

Creates a positive on-boarding experience for new hires which enables the new hire Territory Manager to achieve their sales objectives and plays an integral role in providing training, support, and ongoing development while building strong working relationships with Regional Managers that drive collaboration.  Assists in the development and implementation of new hire sales training for the Commercial Sales organization, including in person, online, and instructor-led solutions.  

 

What you’ll do:

  • Training Execution (70%)
    • Design classroom and blended learning solutions to meet learning objectives.
    • Use certifications (demonstration of skills) to ensure learning has occurred.
    • Actively involve Regional leaders in the learning and reinforcement process.
    • Ensure training records are consistently maintained.
    • Measure and document the results of training.
    • Continuously improve training approaches, sales tools, and materials.
    • Schedule/Execute/Administer necessary functions for in-person onboarding of New Hire’s and conducting new hire Sales Training Weeks.
    • Conduct classroom trainings on specific intermediate topics as directed for new hire phase trainings.
    • Conduct one on one follow up trainings for New Hire Territory Manager as directed.
    • Schedule and aide in conducting New Hire Learning Webinars.
    • Ensures New Hire Territory Managers are proficient in utilizing technology tools in a way which maximizes productivity.

 

  • New Hire Onboarding (25%)
    • Structure and conduct the onboarding experience for new hires.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to enhance onboarding components.
    • Actively manage the process to ensure a positive experience for new hires.
    • Monitor, measure, and continuously improve the process.
    • Support/monitor the New Hire Mentor Program as directed.

 

  • Training Development (10%)
    • Conduct performance gap analyses (including feedback from AE/RVP/SAMs) to determine the training and development priorities for achieving business goals.
    • Work alongside exemplary sales professionals, analyzing their work techniques and outcomes.
    • Develop and implement practices that ensure the effective use of classroom, e-learning, coaching, and other training, and development methods.

 

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales-related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in training sales professionals – or in related Sales position.
  • Experience in flooring industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods of leveraging technologies for selling products and services, including marketing, product demonstration, or sales techniques (basic knowledge of Customer Relations Management Tool).
  • Able to fly and drive to Mohawk’s domestic locations for onboarding and training events to accompany sales professionals.

 

 

What you’re good at:

  • Developing sales professionals’ knowledge and skills using a variety of methods including classroom, e-learning, and blended solutions is a plus.
  • Collaborative in working with peers, business leaders, and sales professionals.
  • Self-motivated to develop and execute plans for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates intermediate proficiency level in: Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as Business Writing.
  • Ability to develop/write training material.
  • Proficient in technology applications training.
