  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Mohawk’s design guidelines, internal processes and technologies for daily use.
  • Work with assigned Managers, Mentors and Trainers to develop a working knowledge of Mohawk’s design guidelines, internal processes, equipment & all product types.
  • Use artistic skills, design principles and machine perimeters to develop technically accurate artwork in response to design request, specific instruction or generic brief while maintaining acceptable lead times.
  • Work within and maintain Mohawk's Copyright policies.
  • Use Industry standard software to create technically accurate and aesthetically innovative designs for specific machine types
  • Engage in artwork reviews, mentoring sessions and team discussions for continuous development and increased knowledge of practical design skills, company and industry standards and internal / external design expectations.
  • Positively mentor Designer staff as needed.
  • Research flooring markets by participating in company supported research methods such as trend reports, subscription materials and research outings.   
  • Responsible for completing work in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned





  • Four-year college degree in a related field, Textile/ Graphic Design or Fine Art is preferred & a minimum of 3+ years of flooring design experience. Understanding of design /color principles and concept is required.
  • Proven artistic achievement & a broad based design portfolio is a requirement.
  • Familiarity with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) is desired (Photoshop, Illustrator, Texcelle, etc.)
  • Must show understanding of fashion trends in flooring.
  • Must be an effective team member
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, and handle multiple tasks with concentration and accuracy to meet multiple deadlines and shifting priorities to meet company specifications and production schedules/requirements.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills necessary to effectively interact with team members, management, and other internal and external customers and to build positive interpersonal relationships with various business partners in a cross – functional environment.
  • Consistent, proven ability to manage and implement projects and to contribute to concept development.
  • Ability to approach unfamiliar situations and conceptualize a range of creative and imaginative solutions with ease, using creativity skills to develop accurate design results.
