What we need:

 

Mohawk is looking for a Bilingual Customs Import/Export Analyst to provide expertise on U.S. import and export regulations, documentation and compliance matters to help us win in the market. This position monitors and prepares Customs documents and processes and works with vendor's, carrier's, and/or forwarders as needed to process imports and exports of finished products ensuring compliance and identifying non-compliance issues and initiates action(s) and/or provides guidance on the action steps required.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Prepare Customs entry form 7501 for import shipments along with PPQ501, 3461 Cargo Release, TSCA, EPA.
  • Review import documents for accuracy and follow up with vendors, carriers, forwarders and others as needed.
  • Perform review of import and export entries to ensure compliance, identify noncompliance issues and initiate actions or provide guidance on the actions required.
  • Issue delivery orders for import shipments and confirm completion of delivery to warehouses or customers.
  • Maintain online system files in the IOR module for Canadian shipments, which extend from raw material vendors through manufacturing, pricing, order entry, shipping and customs documentation.
  • Addresses a diverse range of inquiries related to USMCA eligibility, documentation and compliance.
  • Approve and code broker export invoices.

 

What you have:

 

  • Bilingual 
  • Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and training.
  • USMCA experience, as well as HTS classification and documentation and Free Trade agreements.
  • 1 to 2 years of Customs brokerage experience, and experience with Customs Forms 7501 and 3461, CF28 and CF29, CCI, B3, Resident and Non-Resident Importer of Record.  HTS, ABI, ACE, USMCA, GSP and other trade programs.   
  • Knowledge of Customs audit procedures, import/export regulations and documentation.
  • Accounting and transportation experience, working with multiple entities.

 

What you’re good at:

 

  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Access and Microsoft Word. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills. 
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines while ensuring compliance. 
  • Experience with ABI software; EDITRADE preferred.
