Credit Analyst (Residential)

Position Title: Credit Analyst I Location: Northwest Georgia

Reports to Title: Credit Manager/ Sr. Credit Prepared by: Compensation

Primary Objective: In broad terms, briefly state the major purpose of primary objective of this position.

Maintain customer accounts and collects assigned delinquent accounts by telephone and/or written correspondence. Works with direct supervision, performs routine work; follows documented guidelines and processing standards to compare information and ensure compliance for processing, seeks advice and approval for non-routine issues

Major Function and Scope: Using brief narrative statements, describe each major function of responsibility explaining the scope of the function as appropriate.

· Uses pre-established guidelines and standard criteria to establishes credit limits up to $35,000 for customers, analyzes credit reports, financial records, and other available credit information to determine the credit worthiness of accounts, follows predetermines guidelines to authorize orders up to and valued at $35,000; establishes the customer database accounts and or prepares customer files and routes for data entry.

· Establishes pre-approved credit lines and consistently reviews assigned accounts to determine status of accounts; follows documented guidelines and processing standards to identify, research account discrepancies for reconciliation, notify and collect on delinquent accounts.

· Reviews delinquent accounts, verifies the accuracy and reason for delinquency. Performs the required steps to correct database discrepancies identified and/or confers with customers by telephone in attempt to determine reason for overdue payment, reviewing terms of sales, service or credit contract; works with the customer to resolve balances, due date discrepancies, correct database information and other related routine issues; applies processing guidelines to determine hold or release action on customer orders; works with senior team members to resolve more complex non-routine issues.

· Prepares and mails form letters to customers, to communicate account status, to encourage payment of delinquent accounts and/or to collect related information. Calls customers who do not reply to letters.

· Performs data entry to establish and maintain customer account database files; ensures all required information is processed promptly, accurately and in accordance with established guidelines.

· Performs basic administrative task to maintain account information and complete required daily activity reporting

· Provides support to team members as required.


Type of Experience and Knowledge:

Knowledge, Experience, Competencies and Supervision: Describe the education, knowledge required, years of

experience, specific skills and abilities required to do the job on a fully competent basis.

High school graduate and 1 year related work experience; prior experience performing customer service duties a plus.

Basic knowledge of Credit and Collections terms, concepts and practices; knowledge of the departments operating and processing standards, guidelines and policies

Basic knowledge of the Company’s products, services, organizational and functional structure.

Basic computer skills that include Windows, Excel, Word, database, E-mail and other department specific software systems


Competencies: Describe the specific skills required for this position in terms of technical, managerial, interpersonal skills and unique abilities.

Good oral, written and interpersonal communications skill, to effectively communicate via the telephone with internal and external customers; and ability to maintain professionalism and respond tactfully in a “customer friendly” manner

Ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions, polices, guidelines and processing standards

Ability to perform basic math calculations

Ability to perform multiple tasks in an organized manner, with meticulous attention to detail, and accuracy; and the ability to meet deadlines.
