What we're looking for: 

The Accountant is an established performer that is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role involves analyzing financial information, reconciling accounts, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

 

What you'll do:

  • Maintains updated and accurate automated or manual filing and data systems that provides a quick reference database of records.
  • Fulfills reporting requirements for rebates and other ad hoc requests.
  • Assists in preparation of the consolidation of inter-company transactions.
  • Processes Financial close which includes scheduling nightly automated close processes in JD Edwards and checking month-end reports.
  • Collaborates with corporate accounting team with account reconciliations and recording of journal entries.
  • Compiles, analyzes, calculates cost data, and maintains the standard cost for purchased product.
  • Records and reviews cost calculations with management, to ensure consistency with the selling price.
  • Reconciles and researches excessive variance issues and determining causes.
  • Maintains and manages all components of cost sheets and specification sheets for all budget forecasts. 
  • Enters all necessary budget information onto Overhead sheets by department and prepare summary of budget by locations.
  • Verifies that statistical and financial reports are accurate and in compliance.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.

 

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPA certification preferred.

 

What you're good at:

  • Knowledge of operating and capital budgeting processes.
  • Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) and Sarbanes-Oxley. 
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
