Primary Objective: 

Conducts scheduled and emergency repairs on buildings and equipment, utilizing skills in plumbing, carpentry, drywall, electrical, painting, HVAC, and other related trades. Analyzes drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions to perform repair tasks efficiently. Ensures safe and efficient operation by conducting required tests. Proactively identifies and addresses unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, and emergencies, coordinating with relevant parties for prompt resolution.

Major Function and Scope:

• Perform general maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant equipment, including production machinery, lift trucks, and building systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components
• Assist in the installation and assembly of new equipment and production lines
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and routine inspections on various systems and equipment
• Collaborate with engineers, managers, and project groups for process upgrades and equipment installations
• Coordinate and facilitate vendor/contractor services as needed
• Maintain accurate logs and reports of maintenance activities, equipment usage, and building inspections
• Provide support to team members, vendors, and contractors during equipment installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting
• Assist with building and grounds maintenance, if required
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.

Type of Experience and Knowledge:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Lift Truck Certification preferred
• Successful completion of all required on the job training
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training
• May be required to use department specific database systems
• Related technical training required
• 2 years’ experience in maintenance 
• Experience performing job specific general maintenance duties that include maintenance of mechanical and low voltage electrical equipment
• Knowledge of pneumatics
• Knowledge of hot melt glue systems
• General knowledge of applicable building, electrical, plumbing, HVAC system, boilers, generators, etc.
• Must be proficient using all applicable tools and equipment

• Operate in a team-based environment
• Basic math skills
• Keep simple records and make reports
• Operate and perform preventative maintenance on assigned department equipment, machinery, tools, etc.
• Read and understand technical documents and instructions such as blueprints, electrical schematics, mechanical and machine drawings for installations, troubleshooting, and repair
• Basic skills in troubleshooting
• Hydraulic and welding skills
• May require bending, squatting, climbing, and other physical movement for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Working around moving equipment and in an industrial environment
• Working in an environment where there may be regular exposure to chemicals, noise from machinery, dust, fumes, and variable temperatures
