What we need: 

 

Mohawk is looking for Supervisor Maintenance to oversee the receiving, cycle counting, and inventory management of spare parts throughout the plant. This role supports storeroom operations and inventory control initiatives to help achieve production, quality, and cost objectives. This role is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy in both physical storage locations and SAP by maintaining detailed records, processing inventory transactions, and managing all related documentation and procedures.   

 

What you’ll do: 

 

  • Supervise, coach, train, and develop storeroom associates to support operational objectives and professional growth. 

  • Provide leadership by effectively delegating responsibilities and setting a positive example for the team. 

  • Conduct daily audits of spare parts inventory levels and storeroom operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency. 

  • Identify, communicate, and escalate storeroom issues and concerns to leadership as needed. 

  • Ensure cycle counts are completed accurately and on schedule. 

  • Oversee the receipt, processing, and storage of new parts, materials, and inventory items. 

  • Manage the receiving and inventory control processes for raw materials. 

  • Coordinate transfers, vendor returns, and repair-related shipments of parts and materials. 

  • Document, process, and return damaged goods in accordance with company procedures. 

  • Utilize SAP, Microsoft Office applications, and related systems to manage inventory, reporting, and storeroom activities. 

  • Provide support during scheduled maintenance shutdowns and plant downtime events. 

  • Participate in after-hours call-out support as required. 

  • Oversee the Material Master process, including the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of inventory records. 

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storeroom environment, including all satellite inventory locations. 

  • Serve as a key liaison between storeroom personnel, local and remote storeroom management, Maintenance, Operations, Quality, and Purchasing teams. 

  • Motivate and engage associates to maximize productivity, performance, and accountability. 

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to team members. 

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards. 

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. 

 

What you have: 

 

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred. 

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a storeroom, manufacturing, or inventory management environment, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience required; 3 or more years preferred. 

  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar inventory management systems preferred. 

  • Experience safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment in a manufacturing or warehouse environment required. 

  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage inventory processes, maintain accurate records, and support continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and effectively manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment 

 

What you’re good at: 

 

  • Basic knowledge of inventory control principles, storeroom operations, and materials management practices. 

  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills. 

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with the ability to perform calculations, interpret data, and apply established methods and procedures to support inventory and storeroom operations. 

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare and maintain professional documentation and email correspondence. 

  • Ability to maintain accurate files, records, and inventory documentation. 

  • Ability to anticipate inventory requirements and proactively plan for stock items and raw materials to support operational needs. 

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. 

  • Flexibility with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Maintenance, Operations, Quality, Purchasing, and Supply Chain. 

 

 

What else? 

 

  • This employee will be responsible for direct reports.  

  • Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions caused by noise, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and other conditions associated with a high-traffic production floor. 

  • Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time. 

  • Bending, crouching, and stooping may be required.  

  • Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled facilities.  

  • The work environment may be a noisy, high traffic manufacturing production floor.  

  • May be required to work a flexible schedule to include evening and night shifts, weekends, and holidays. 

  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day. 

  • The ability to lift 50 pounds regularly. 

  • Must be able to push/pull pallets of boxes weighing up to 700lbs using pallet jack.
