What we need:

 

This position will serve as the Communications Manager for Mohawk Group, the commercial business unit of Mohawk Industries. This position will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s public relations and communications strategies to enhance brand visibility, reputation, and engagement across multiple channels. The role requires a deep understanding of the design industry, media landscape, and effective storytelling to reach key audiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PR, communications, and content creation, with experience working with design brands or in related creative fields.The Communications Manager will oversee media, advertising, public relations, communications, and social media of Mohawk Group with the goal of maximizing the company’s presence and brand consistency in the A&D community, market segments, end users, and the larger business world. They will also align the PR strategy with the brand’s vision and objectives.

 

What you'll do:

 

  • Implement strategic and measurable public relations programs to achieve significant increases in brand awareness and leadership positioning in key audiences (flooring trade media, customers, end users).
  • Manage PR agency/agencies to execute product press launches and special events for Mohawk Group, as well as proactively manage editorial calendars, award opportunities and pitches for stories, among other activities, including managing media inquiries, executing media requests and handling interview arrangements.
  • Lead development of messaging, press releases, media alerts, FAQs, etc. to support business objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with key media partners, advertising vendors and manages media buys and advertisement in key media partners, including project management of all media executions across channels.
  • Update and manage media and advertising reports and metrics, reporting results regularly to leadership.
  • Promote Cause Marketing initiatives and maximizes relationships to meet business objectives.
  • Develop and implement communications plans to serve various messaging needs in all channels.
  • Contribute to creating and supporting content development, including copywriting, articles, blog posts and other key content executions.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling content, including press materials, articles, blog posts, and newsletters that reflect the brand's voice.
  • Support brand, segment and product marketing teams so that all efforts are aligned.
  • Support social media strategy as the team expert
  • Ensure consistency in messaging across all communication platforms, including social media, newsletters, and press materials.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers in the A&D, trade, and construction industry.
  • Stay aware of competitor PR and social for benchmarking purposes.

 

What you have:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 6-8 years writing and public relations and/or communications experience.
  • Creative and strategic thinker with a passion for design and storytelling.

  • Exceptional team player who possesses excellent oral, written, presentation, interpersonal communication and deck writing skills to effectively interact with a wide range of individuals.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a diverse work group to achieve results through team efforts while fostering team commitment to tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with poise and professionalism.
  • Ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner to all levels within the organization, as well as those with whom the company does business.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and plan work under own initiative.

This position requires occasional travel for trade shows, media and marketing events, etc.
