What we need:

The Manager Safety Training is a first-level manager that manages the day-to-day activities of organizational safety programs to prevent injuries and work-related health conditions and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.  This role will promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by collaborating with various departments to minimize workplace hazards and foster a culture of safety.

What you’ll do:

• Manage safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA and DOT/FMCSA rules and regulations. 
• Deliver training programs to sites on relevant accident prevention and compliance programs. 
• Conduct analyses of accident causes and associated health hazards to be used to target specific prevention strategies.  
• Prepare and maintain required documentation of incident reports, statistical analyses, and other reports for use as required by company personnel and outside agencies.  
• Audit/Evaluate truck driver operations/behaviors to detect existing or potential risks for accidents or incidents.  
• Provide information and communication materials to worksites to assist with training, safety meetings, and other programs. 
• Coordinate the investigation of incidents and injuries with site managers.  
• Perform other related duties as needed. 
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies. 
• Reviews relevant factors to analyze situations and resolve issues.  
• Performs other duties as needed.  

What you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.    
• Commercial Driver’s License 
• 5-8 years’ experience as a commercial motor vehicle driver operating in different environments
• Commercial motor vehicle driver trainer experience preferred
• 1-3 years of management experience. 
• Safety training and certificates are preferred. 
• Knowledge of OSHA and DOT/FMCSA safety disciplines, other regulatory guidelines, and common transportation safety practices.

What else?

• Occasional travel is required.
• This role may work in classrooms, offices, and highway or interstate roadways.
• This role will be responsible for direct reports.
