Primary Objective:

Lubricates all weaving machinery with oil and grease as necessary to maintain optimum quality and production levels. Operates the QA table as needed.

Function and Scope:

• Constantly patrols looms and lubricates machinery parts with oil and grease, checks lubricant levels, fills auto-oilers and reports oil leaks
• Use grease joint rejuvenator, lubricating oil and hammer to unclog fittings as needed
• Use battery powered or air powered grease gun to grease all fittings on looms
• Use grease gun to apply grease to gears on P7100 looms and use allen wrench to remove panel doors to access gears
• Use automatic pump to transfer oil from drum to oil barrel on cart
• Records all action on the proper forms and check sheets, takes corrective action or makes recommendations for repair to machinery
• Use compressed air to blow off accumulators on P7300 and P7100 looms
• Operates the QA Table as needed
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management

Experience and Knowledge:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Successful completion of all required on the job training
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training
• Reads and writes in standard English and proficient performing basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction
• Experience performing simple maintenance on machinery and mechanical aptitude preferred
• Knowledge of basic tools and their uses, including screw drivers, grease guns, wrenches, and compressed air
• Identify and document defects in fabric, using appropriate forms and check sheets
• Safely operate weaving machines, including starting and stopping the machine, threading yarn breaks, tying knots, and simple maintenance
• Perform simple judgements to determine oil levels in machinery
• Log required information on tags and check sheets and/or keep notes on work progress
• Learn basic loom start up procedures, such as stopping and starting the machinery and tying knots (weavers knot and slashers knot) to repair yarn breaks on start up

Requirements:

• Operate in a team-based environment
• May require bending, squatting, climbing, and other physical movement for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Working around moving equipment and in an industrial environment
• Working in an environment where there may be regular exposure to chemicals, noise from machinery, dust, fumes, and variable temperatures
• Must have adequate normal, color vision and depth perception to perform job duties
