What we need:

The Sr Manager Accounting is a senior-level manager that proactively oversees the daily operation of the accounting department.  This role is responsible for journal entries, general ledger account reconciliation, preparation, and review, SOX and company compliance, and financial reporting management. 

What you’ll do:

• Manages the close process for assigned areas, reviews and analyzes financial data, and prepares financial reports, all in compliance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Internationals Accounting Standards (IAS), and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).  

• Assists in the preparation of footnotes and related accounting information to be included in the SEC reports and the Annual Report for shareholders. 

• Plays a key leadership role in acquisitions and mergers, system implementation, conversions, and upgrades.  

• Develop charters for accounts that ensure efficient and effective systems and process integration.  

• Reviews processes and procedures to streamline activities, enhance the overall workflow of the department, and facilitate effective and efficient use of resources. 

• Lead, motivate, and manage a group of diverse employees.  

• Ensure that all procedures, practices, and policies align with GAAP, IAS, and SEC.  

• Research and document financial fluctuations and collect data to verify accuracy of fluctuations.  

• Facilitate quarterly and annual audits and serve as a liaison for internal and external auditors. 
• Perform other duties as needed.  

What you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience. 
• 8-10 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience. 
• 3-5 years of management experience. 
• CPA certification preferred. 

What you’re good at:

• Strong understanding of GAAP, IAS, and SEC.  

• Proficiency in software such as Recon-net, SAP, JDE, Microsoft Office applications, etc.  

• Develops intermediate understanding of people management practices and managing small teams of direct reports. 

• Emerging understanding of broader organizational context and goals. 

• Focused on and responsible for their team's productivity and collective impact. 

• Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. 

• Able to multitask, prioritize, delegate, and manage time effectively. 

• High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data. 

• Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player, and able to handle multiple projects at once. 

• High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.

• This employee will be responsible for direct reports.
• Occasional travel may be required.
