What we need:

The Director of Supply Chain will have end-to-end responsibility for the strategies, processes, and systems to create a best-in-class demand and supply planning function. This leader will collaborate with the analytical team to develop models and processes to improve purchase order creation, optimize inbound flow and better integrate with vendors, carriers, and distribution centers to drive improvements in inventory performance, inventory availability and service levels, ordering logic, and inbound flow optimization at an optimized supply chain costs for both Domestic and Import sourcing. In addition, this position is expected to play a key role in leading cross functional initiatives to capitalize on areas of growth and profit improvement opportunities and is expected to work collaboratively across the organization. This role involves strategic planning, team management, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that align with business goals and customer needs.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Provide leadership for the demand and supply planning function – including the optimization and management of strategies, suppliers, facilities, processes, and personnel to deliver stellar customer service at lowest total system cost.
  • Manage inventory planning, inventory control and efficiency (turns, placement, investment), inventory flow, and related metrics. Maintain and optimize an enterprise inventory management system, driving visibility and improving performance across network. Partner with cross functional teams to enhance working capital positions, turns, accuracy, and Excess and Obsolete improvement.
  • Build partnerships and programs with suppliers to drive end-to-end cost and performance optimization. Identify and implement initiatives to innovate and collaborate with suppliers. Measure and drive compliance on key supplier performance like On Time and In Full (OTIF). Identify root causes of non-compliance and drive to efficient resolutions and improvement in supplier performance.
  • Leverage demand and supply planning, Inventory and transportation management systems to drive operational efficiencies Partner with analytical team and IT leadership to define ongoing technology needs to enhance capabilities across the replenishment, inventory management, and vendor performance functions and establish best practice process-enablement across the supply chain.
  • Deliver results through influence and communicating effectively with supplier and internal cross functional leadership. Support cross-functional team to eliminate silos that block collaboration and buy-in. Standardize processes to reduce waste and develop consistent work processes and standards for all key functions across the network. Build a culture of process improvement and high performance. Establish key performance indicators and baseline data as a basis to track process improvements.
  • Drive supply planning visibility across key stake holders (suppliers, logistics and distribution centers) and proactively plan and optimize the flow against any potential supply chain capacity constraints with the goal of driving Inventory availability and cost-effective movement of goods.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and teamwork across the planning team. Develop capabilities of the team through mentoring, training, and coaching. Develop working relationships with internal and external suppliers and customers and foster positive team relations.
  • Collaborate with product and sales team to drive product life cycle management to effectively plan for demand and supply for new product launches and effectively manage Inventory on exiting products
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with supply chain activities, ensuring business continuity and compliance.
  • Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges and disruptions.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to planning function like forecast accuracy, Inventory productivity , supplier OTIF and supply chain costs.
  • Utilize data and analytics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, product and sales to align supply chain strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to address supply chain needs.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

 

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 10+ years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 5+ years of management experience.

 

What you’re good at:

  • Experience leading demand/supply planning, replenishment, and related function in a retail or consumer products supply chain of appropriate size, structure, and complexity;
  • Strategic experience building process and organizational capability on demand & supply planning / replenishment, inventory management and control, and supplier performance;
  • Track record of data-driven decision making, leveraging ERP, MRP, WMS, and TMS systems to drive performance improvements.
  • Developing proven team structure and processes that drive results.
  • Solid understanding of broader organization context and goals.
  • Able to delegate work effectively to team members; ensures tasks are completed without micromanaging.
  • Focused on and responsible for their team's productivity and collective impact.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, delegate, and manage time effectively.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential people data.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
