Position Title: Electromechanical Engineer

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.            Design, develop, and implement electronic controls for plant operation, data collection and analysis, and report generation and graphic display.

2.            Develop programming interface between manufacturing equipment, programmable logic controllers (PLC), and touch panels.

3.            Train managers, maintenance, and hourly personnel to properly use control panels and touch panels.

4.            Troubleshoot PLCs and other electronic equipment.

5.            Train maintenance personnel on how to trouble shoot PLCs and other electronic equipment.

6.            Develop, test, and implement new electronic control process improvements.

7.            Act as a liaison between manufacturing and Information Systems.

8.            Support the implementation of new electronic controls for manufacturing equipment.

9.            Write operating and troubleshooting guides and procedures.

10.         Perform other duties as required.

 

The Electromechanical Engineer position has 6 direct reports.

• Maintenance Technician I (1)

• Maintenance Technician II (1)

• Maintenance Technician III (2)

• Maintenance Technician IV (2)

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, plus the following experience:

1.            8 years of electromechanical experience;

2.            5 years of experience in EACH of the following: ceramic tile manufacturing processes and electronic process control equipment and processes;

3.            3 years of experience in EACH of the following ceramic tile production equipment: digital inkjet printers, sorting lines, spray driers, continuous as well as modular mills, kilns, and glaze lines;

4.            3 years of experience in EACH of the following: process optimization, programmable logic controllers, electromechanical troubleshooting, general maintenance and repair as well as the project management of new equipment installations.

Experience may be gained concurrently.

 

In lieu of the above, the employer will also accept the following:

1.            10 years of electromechanical experience;
