The Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist is an established performer that works to coordinate activities such as repairs, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, alterations, improvements, and protection of all company assets to ensure economical and continuous operations. This role is critical in ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems in manufacturing facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

· Design and modify HMI Screens as well as develop and document changes.

· Modify PLC Programs as well as develop and document changes.

· Maintain health and reliability of manufacturing network (wiring and Ethernet switches).

· Maintain health and reliability of Control Net Network (PLC to PLC, PLC to field I/O network, cabling).

· Ensure that scheduled back-ups of PLC programs occur in a timely manner.

· Develop back up schedules for SLC500, Micrologix, PLC5, and Control Logix.

· Responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance of InSQL Server.

· Maintain I/O servers and computers, add/remove tags, maintain licenses, and coordinate hardware maintenance with IT department.

· Coordinate with IT department to maintain HMI computer health and reliability.

· Provide call support to facility as needed.

· Ensure that plant electrical drawings and documentation are maintained.

· Provide or coordinate training for Electrical Technicians on a consistent basis with documentation.

· Create procedures for all related tasks.

· Maintain DPC and ensure reliability.

· Rotate Plant Call Out Schedule as needed.

· Perform other duties as needed.

 

Required Experience and Education: 

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

· 2-4 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Competencies: 

· Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.

· Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.

· Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

· High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.

· Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.

· Required to work outside in any weather condition.

· Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions caused by noise, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and other conditions associated with a high-traffic production floor.

· Bending, crouching, and stooping may be required.

· Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled facilities.

· The work environment may be a noisy, high traffic manufacturing production floor.

· May be required to work a flexible schedule to include evening and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

· The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.

· The ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.

· Must be able to work at excessive heights such as working off ladders or from a man lift.

· Must be able to climb vertical ladders to access work.

· Must be able to work in confined spaces or wear a respirator for extended periods of time.

· Must be able to wear hearing protection, steel toe shoes/boots, fall protection or any other required PPE.

· Perform other plant supporting functions as deemed necessary by Maintenance Manager.
