OBJECTIVE:

 

Conduct R&D projects to develop products and procedures in the manufacturing of flooring products, focusing on material performance and requirements.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Lead the technical development of new product compositions, aiming to solve specific customer needs.
  • Identify product and process improvement opportunities, working in collaboration with manufacturing.
  • Work with manufacturer to design and execute experiments in order to achieve process and product improvements.
  • Conduct routine/non-routine research and design experiments with minimal assistance
  • Pursue industry partnerships for the development of new technologies in advanced manufacturing
  • Effectively support manufacturing process robustness improvements, monitor process operations, optimize process yields, and minimize cycle time.
  • Make sound technical recommendations and contribute to technical feasibility analysis regarding projects/matters
  • Devise new approaches to complex problems through adaptations and modifications of standard technical principles. Incorporate new methods and technologies for improving existing or new products/processes.
  • Utilize robust statistical analysis to draw appropriate conclusions from the data. Provide analytical interpretation of result from studies to stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and provide timely resolution to technical issues in support of ramp-up and steady-state operations of manufacturing facilities.
  • Work with appropriate support groups to assess product impact of manufacturing deviations and write product impact statements

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Material Science (Chemical, Process or Industrial preferred)
  • Minimum of three to five year’s prior work experience working on engineering projects of moderate to high complexity.  Alternatively, advance degree in Chemical Engineering or Material Science
  • Strong presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of management, internal, and external business contacts.
  • Self-starter, technical aptitude, strong mathematical, analytical skills. Demonstrated knowledge of system software, PC proficiency- Access, Excel, Word and MS Project and other databases
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop and maintain Industrial Engineering databases
