The Manager Logistic Support position is responsible for managing Dal-Tile Logistic Assets, including but not limit to warehouse equipment and private fleet at Dal-Tile Distribution and Sales Service Centers.  This includes analyzing and developing programs to improve fleet assets efficiencies and maximize utilization; development and implement process improvement to optimizing equipment usage and investment and driving down costs company wide.

 

Summary:

  • Monitors and analyzes expenditure, financial, and operations of logistic equipment (such as delivery vehicles, trailers and forklifts for sales, distribution, manufacturing) to maximize assets utilization.
  • Manage the life cycle of logistic equipment
  • Maintains a positive relationship with logistic equipment providers to ensure best support, services and options.
  • Develops forecast and negotiates contracts with logistic equipment providers.
  • Reviews all equipment service agreements and ensure maintenance schedule is followed
  • Maintains an accurate and up to date equipment master and actively monitor condition of equipment
  • Enforces the usage of Logistic equipment is following policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations.
  • Responsible for insurance and regulatory compliance for all logistic equipment
  • Maintains a service and cost metric and financial for Logistic assets and support financial reporting.
  • Reviews and qualifies request for acquisition of new equipment to increase efficiency and services of operations department.
  • Provides proposal on best financial position on logistic equipment – buy vs lease vs rent
  • Prepares capital request, SAP requisitions and procurement for equipment and verify related invoices are accurate and processed timely.
  • Prepares process improvement recommendations for evaluation related to Logistic equipment.
  • Works in coordination with Mohawk Transportation Safety to track and implement D.O.T. safety training and compliance.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

 

Experience and knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, related field or applicable years of direct related experience.  
  • Knowledge of Logistic operations or transportation /fleet industry required.  
  • Understand of equipment related financial policies highly desired.   
  • Demonstrated knowledge of freight, carriers and distribution.
  •  Prior contract negotiation experience and in-depth knowledge of D.O.T. and fleet related regulations preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.  
  • Self-managed with ability to handle multiple priorities successfully.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability.  
  • Proficient knowledge in use of SAP preferred.
